Description
The Sr MRO Planning Analyst will be responsible for identifying all internal and external demand streams for MRO inventory and forecasting usage rates by sku. The results of this systematic analysis will serve as the basis for the MRO replenishment and stocking plan, covering over $20MM of inventory. In addition to demand analysis and inventory management, the MRO planning analyst will supply planning models that look at all potential sources of supply, spanning purchases OEM finished goods to salvage from down units. The Sr MRO Planning Analyst reports directly to the MRO Planning Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for supporting production planning for the Manufacturing group by ensuring regular replenishment and appropriate inventory levels for all raw materials and sub-assemblies.
- Work with Service Engineering to identify product failure rates and required consumption levels of spare parts needed to support KCI’s product uptime standards.
- Participate in product life cycle planning with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Service Operations to determine demand requirements for spare parts over the introduction, maturity and end-of-life periods.
- Proactively engage with Quality, R&D and Service Operations to identify special repair and refurbishment projects, to allow enough time to procure long lead-time parts.
- Extract, validate and control demand data used for statistical forecasting.
- Analyze historical demand patterns, trends and other business information in the development of monthly demand forecasts for spares.
- Track significant forecast-to-actual unit variances and recommend appropriate revisions to the demand plan.
- Prioritize and allocate materials during periods of constrained supply.
- Monitor supply and demand imbalances and communicate/escalate, as appropriate.
- Regularly monitor slow and obsolete inventory, and create disposition plans for review by management
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in forecasting, planning and execution of the demand/supply plan.
- Track supply chain performance via a cohesive and comprehensive set of metrics: supply chain reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost, and working capital efficiency.
- Participate and provide data for the Spares S&OP meeting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 yrs. of demand planning or supply chain management experience.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel + Access), expertise with Business Objects or similar business intelligence apps, familiarity with scripting SQL and VBA.
- Must have strong demand/supply planning background, as demonstrated by work experience or association with industry groups such as APICS, IBF, IIF, etc.
- Possesses a strong knowledge of supply chain concepts, including how demand/supply planning impacts other functions of the business.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in planning outputs.
- Must posses solid presentation skills and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
- Knowledge of statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning applications such as Oracle Demantra, i2 Demand Manager, Manugistics, etc.
- APICS or relevant professional planning association certification strongly preferred.
- Operational or financial analysis background.
